Skilled Writer
After six years in competitive spelling, I transferred my verbal knowledge into writing articles and pieces. At first, I started with Spell Sage's blog - The Klondiker - but then, I moved on to penning Op-Eds in the Washington Post, Fortune Magazine, Tampa Bay Times, and Education Week. I also write a monthly linguistic column in The Bayou Stroll that covers themed words.
The Psammofiles Mission Statement
The Psammofiles Bee aims to inspire the next generation of spellers by providing a high-quality competition that closely simulates the Scripps stage. This initiative also champions literacy; any funds generated by the contest are donated to libraries in the Pinellas region.

You can now register for a online spelling bee that mimics the Scripps format! This bee is completely non-profit. All funds will go towards local libraries, reading initiatives, and prizes! You can also get access to a free one-day workshop by registering!

The Muddy Walrus, a pottery firm in St. Petersburg, proudly serves as the official trophy sponsor for The Psammofiles Bee. The trophy, a cylinder-shaped piece, is inspired by a cactus to symbolize a psammophile. Bees and dune grass motifs swirl around the main body, capturing the essence and spirit of the Bee competition.
