Shrey Parikh is the 2025 Psammofiles Spelling Bee Champion!
The Grand Finals of the 2025 Psammofiles Spelling Bee
After 17 rounds of intense competition, Shrey Parikh of California emerged victorious on "Agnean." Upon winning the bee, he said, "I feel grateful for this bee." Nearly 50 spellers from across the world participated, raising $1200 for hurricane relief.

Bruhat Soma, The 2024 Psammofiles Bee Champion went on to win the Scripps Championship. Faizan Zaki, a Psammofiles finalist, finished 2nd-place at the Scripps Bee. After becoming the Scripps champion, Bruhat said, "The Psammofiles Bee was very helpful to prepare for Scripps. I highly recommend participating in this bee."
The Psammofiles Bee aims to inspire the next generation of spellers by providing a high-quality competition that closely simulates the Scripps stage. This initiative also champions literacy; any funds generated by the contest are donated to libraries in the Pinellas region.
In 2025, the Psammofiles Bee raised over $1,200 for Hurricane Milton disaster relief. We’ve reached out to our local government and are currently in the process of identifying an organization to donate the funds to. Stay tuned for the latest updates!
